Drawings on Vellum > Stain Drawings

The stain drawings series were created from observation evolved into invention. On a formal level, there's an aesthetic that bears appreciation through the grease stain formation- as the delicate tonal values radiate from initial surface contact. I also like the fact that something which can have a one-sided negative association can be thought of in another way or context. The stains also relate reductively to what’s happening in my paintings.
